Spot On POS Review
Welcome to my Spot On POS review!
I have used this brand in my restaurant so I can speak from personal experience.
Shopping around online and trying to decide on your next system is tricky but fear not, you've landed on the right page.
Read below as I dig into insights based on my hands-on experience.
What is SpotOn POS?

SpotOn POS has been around for quite some time, though it was originally marketed and sold under the name Emagine POS. SpotOn began as a payment processing company back in 2001, though it wasn’t until 2018 that SpotOn acquired Emagine to bring their customers a versatile new system.
While there are many different POS systems under the SpotOn brand, their restaurant-specific platform with hospitality features makes it an excellent choice for those working in the food and service industry.
SpotOn has a wide variety of touchscreen solutions that are easy to set up so you can get your business running faster than ever. SpotOn does have a few restrictions when it comes to their hardware, though, so you won't be able to use your own.
However, the systems that they have put together are top-notch, and we think that you'll be pleased with what they offer.
Let's take a closer look, shall we?
Best SpotOn POS Features
SpotOn has a variety of great features that would take an eternity to talk about, so let’s instead go over a few of the top features:
SpotOn POS Pricing
SpotOn has a breakdown of prices depending on what you need for your business, which ranges from about $25/month to $195/month. Let's see how they lay their pricing model out:
You will pay $25 per month if you use SpotOn’s payment platform, as well as an additional $65 per month if you want to use the software that is specific to restaurants. These costs do not include the cost of hardware or setup.
The good thing is that payment processing from SpotOn is very affordable. In fact, SpotOn has some of the industry’s lowest commission rates, which is why so many restaurants decide to use their systems.
As of now, the rate for SpotOn is 1.89% + 15c. Though the flat-rate cents commission is a bit higher than usual, the low commission percentage balances things out. In all, the pricing from SpotOn is very competitive compared to other POS systems, though we would recommend purchasing it with their processing unless you want to pay a ton!
SpotOn Review - An In-Depth Look
Web-Based System
SpotOn POS is a web-based provider, which is fairly unique for newer systems. Most newer systems fall under the local or cloud-based umbrella.
The beauty of a web-based system is that you can access your data remotely and control your POS system from any browser at any time. You can easily protect your data much more easily as well.
Web-based providers update with ease as well, meaning you’ll always have access to the new features of SpotOn as they continue to release new software updates. If you want to use a tablet for tableside ordering, you can reap all of the same benefits of a mobile system too.

Intuitive Design
We all know that training staff to use a new system can be a pain. Luckily, SpotOn is very easy to use. The menus can be customized, though right off the bat, they provide a clear map for your staff to navigate. Having an efficient and easy-to-use systems means that your turnaround times will be much faster.
Data Control
Running a successful restaurant in modern times means having a good grasp of the data that your restaurant creates. The great thing about SpotOn POS is that it provides owners and managers with extensive data reporting.
SpotOn allows users to monitor inventory, sales, time-based trends, employee productivity, and much, much more. Your system can be set up with alerts so that you can be notified of any inefficiencies or outliers.
All of this data can be accessed anywhere at any time!
Add-Ons and Integrations
SpotOn POS has plenty of add-ons and integrations available. Any system that comes without add-ons or integrations is probably not worth using.
The add-ons and integrations from SpotOn allow owners and management to make improvements to inventory, staffing, accounting, and a variety of other crucial business components.
Some of these add-ons and integrations include CTUIT, QuickBooks, Optimum Control, Gusto, Bevinco, Splick.it, and more!
Customer Service and Support
Having a strong customer support team behind your POS provider is very important. You never know when your system is going to have technical difficulties and it shouldn’t be your job or anyone else’s job on your team to fix it/.
With SpotOn, you get 24/7 access to a customer service team that can help you with any issues as they arise.
